Primavera
Projection on Printed Image
2023

This installation was conceived as a follow up to my first projection mapping on the iconic Ognissanti Madonna by Giotto. I started doing these dynamic mappings as a way to engage with century old paintings by using 21st century projection technology. While in the process of creating these projects, I spend a great deal of time with the original artwork, allowing me to explore the most subtle details of the renaissance masters and uncover painting techniques that would normally go over my head. Edited to Sinéad O'Connor's "Troy," this work is dedicated to her legacy and memory. This piece was created using a combination of Photoshop, After Effects and Isadora.

My series of Renaissance projection mappings are an exciting and innovative new way of engaging with ancient artworks. These projects could be used to excite younger students about art, provide new perspectives to older works, and act as unique and innovative backdrops for events or domestic spaces. The next work in this series is currently in progess so keep an eye out for a revolutionary new take on one of El Greco's most famous pieces.
